Erik Rodriguez: Student, Son, Lumberjack?

While Erik Rodriguez is not your average lumberjack, this 20-year-old junior at Texas State had a chopping good time over the winter break. Rodriguez is pursuing his bachelors degree in Public Relations and a minor in Psychology.

Rodriguez says he got his inspiration to major in Public Relations from Edward Bernays, the father of public relations, leader behind the start of women smokers, and as it turns out, breakfast staples.

Over the winter break, Rodriguez visited his parents in Harlingen, Texas. Aside from helping his parents paint a bathroom the color manila, this flap-jack inspired lumberjack also assisted his mother by chopping down half of a tree. When asked why, Rodriguez replied that it was rotting and he "wasn't doing anything else."
